The first phase of the desktop systems encryption requirement is beginning, this includes your open areas and some faculty offices.  This stage of encryption is only addressing the "High Risk" machines or systems more likely to contain student and university sensitive data which are located in the higher traffic and open office areas.  All newly purchased systems, desktops and laptops, do now require encryption.
