Dear COEHD Faculty, Staff, and Students,
You are likely aware by now of the devastating and heartbreaking deadly event at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX – a small community roughly 100 miles southwest of San Antonio. This horrific and senseless act has hit very close to
home.
I did learn that two school administrators involved in the situation are closely connected to UTSA. The principal of Robb Elementary is currently a doctoral student in ELPS – her name is Mandy Gutierrez. The Superintendent,
John Harrell, is a UTSA alum.
Please keep these individuals and the entire community of Uvalde in your thoughts and prayers.
