Dear COEHD Faculty:

There are several upcoming IES grant deadlines in August (highlighted in yellow below).  Regarding the Education Research Grant Programs, there are 13 topics, including: Career and Technical Education; Cognition and Student Learning; Early Learning Programs and Policies; Education Leadership; Education Technology; Effective Teachers and Effective Teaching; English Learners; Improving Education Systems; Postsecondary and Adult Education; Reading and Writing; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education; Social and Behavioral Context for Academic Learning; and Special Topics (e.g., Social Studies and Foreign Language Education).

·         Education Research (CFDA No. 84.305A): Includes Career and Technical Education; Cognition and Student Learning; Early Learning Programs and Policies; Education Leadership; Education Technology; Effective Teachers and Effective Teaching; English Learners; Improving Education Systems; Postsecondary and Adult Education; Reading and Writing; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education; Social and Behavioral Context for Academic Learning; and Special Topics (e.g., Social Studies and Foreign Language Education).  Range of Awards: $100,000 -$760,000 for up to 5yrs. Application available: 6/21/18 Due Date: 8/23/18

·         Education Research and Development Centers (CFDA No. 84.305A):  Includes Improving Rural Education and Writing in Secondary Schools.  Range of Awards: $1,000,000 -$2,000,000 for up to 5yrs. Application available: 6/21/18 Due Date: 8/09/18

·         Statistical and Research Methodology in Education (CFDA No. 84.305D): Statistical and Research Methodology Grants; and Early Career Statistical and Research Methodology Grants. Range of Awards: $40,000 to $300,000 for up to 3yrs. Application available:6/21/18  Due Date: 8/23/18

·         Partnerships and Collaborations Focused on Problems of Practice or Policy (CFDA No. 84.305H):  Researcher-Practitioner Partnerships in Education Research; and Evaluation of State and Local Education Programs and Policies. Range of Awards: $50,000 to $1,000,000 for up to 5yrs. Application available: 6/21/18  Due Date: 8/23/18

·         Low-Cost, Short-Duration Evaluation of Education Interventions (CFDA No. 84.305L): Range of Awards: $50,000 to $125,000 for up to 2yrs. Application available:1/10/19  Due Date: 3/07/19

·         Special Education Research (CFDA No. 84.324A):  Autism Spectrum Disorders; Cognition and Student Learning in Special Education; Early Intervention and Early Learning in Special Education; Families of Children with Disabilities; Professional Development for Teachers and School-Based Service Providers; Reading, Writing, and Language Development; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)  Education; Social and Behavioral Outcomes to Support Learning; Special Education Policy, Finance, and Systems; Technology for Special Education; Transition Outcomes for Secondary Students with Disabilities; Special Topics, including  Career and Technical Education for Students with Disabilities, English Learners with Disabilities; and Systems-Involved Students with Disabilities.  Range of Awards: $100,000 -$760,000 for up to 5yrs. ·         Research Training Programs in Special Education (CFDA No. 84.324B): Early Career Development and Mentoring.  Range of Awards: $50,000 -$125,000 for up to 4yrs. Application available: 6/21/18 Due Date: 8/23/18
