Dear COEHD Faculty,

On Friday, January 24th, the College of Education and Human Development will host a Faculty Forum on Tenure and Promotion in the Assembly Room of the NEW Faculty Center on the 4th floor of the JPL building from 1pm to 3pm. The purpose of the forum is to provide greater clarity to assistant and associate professors on issues pertaining to tenure and promotion. This forum is for ALL faculty in the COEHD. It will be informative to Assistant Professors to learn about the tenure process and criteria. It will be useful for Associate Professors who are looking to be promoted to Full Professors in the near future. And it will be useful for Full Professors to listen and share their thoughts across the college and see how others view the process and criteria. It will also be insightful for the Department Chairs to hear about how others view the tenure criteria and process. One of the goals of this forum is to develop a sense of consistency, alignment, and clarity across the COEHD.

The forum will feature the following:

Dr. John Frederick, Provost

Dr. Betty Merchant, Dean

Dr. Thelma Duffey, Dept. Chair of Counseling

Dr. Wanxiang Yao, Dept. Chair of Health and Kinesiology

Dr. Laura Rendon, Professor, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies

Dr. Paul Schutz, Professor, Educational Psychology

If you plan to attend, please RSVP me by e-mail, no later than Wednesday, January 22nd.

Alan R. Shoho, Ed.D.

Associate Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Support

Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
