Dear Faculty,

Please encourage your students to attend one of the Rivera’s … Y NO SE LO TRAGÓ LA TIERRA film events (see attached).  Rivera’s book and film highlight his struggles as a farmworker, but also his triumph of overcoming the barriers he faced in his life; the novel is considered “one of groundbreaking works of emerging Chicana/o literature…”.

We are highlighting Tomás Rivera’s work at our Courageous Conversation, today, this Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 5pm; UTSA Downtown Buena Vista Theatre.  Dr. Rivera believed that social mobility could be achieved through education, which I firmly believe reflects our work in the college.

We appreciate you also encouraging students to attend our event!
