UTSA Child Development Center prepares for reopening with welcome back luau for staff

 

 

After closing its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the halls of the UTSA Child Development Center (UTSA CDC) were filled with silence, that was until Monday, August 17, when and staff returned to the center for a social distancing “luau” to help prepare them for the new semester.

 

 

 

COEHD professor receives outstanding book award

 

 

Dr. Abraham P. DeLeon, UTSA Associate Professor of Social Foundations, has been awarded a 2020 Outstanding Book Award by the Society of Professors of Education for his 2019 publication, Subjectivities, Identities, and Education after Neoliberalism: Rising from the Rubble.

 

 

 

Professor Emeritus receives three distinguished awards

 

 

For almost 50 years, Roxanne Henkin, Ed.D, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Interdisciplinary Learning & Teaching at the College of Education and Human Development dedicated her career to educating individuals about the power of the written word. This summer, she received three distinguished awards to celebrate her life-long achievements.

 

 

 

COEHD graduate students receive awards in university challenge

 

 

Over the summer, 22 UTSA graduate students from different colleges across the university united to participate in the COVID-19 Transdisciplinary Team Grand Challenge. The challenge, sponsored by The Graduate School and the Office of the Vice President for Research, Economic Development, and Knowledge Enterprise, tasked teams of students with developing transdisciplinary proposals that address issues associated with the pandemic.
