Good morning Everyone,

The SECC campaign has officially kicked off, please join us by donating to a charity of your choice. Teresa Pena (Educational Psychology) and I are your college champions. We are here to help you.

This year, three new UTSA agencies were approved for the SECC.

Give to the UTSA First Generation and Transfer Center (413004), Roadrunner Pantry (413006) or the Fostering Educational Success Center (413005) to support our university community. Find them in the SECC-Approved Charitable Organizations.

We would like to see COEHD at 100%, the minimum donation is $3. UTSA would like us to donate on October 15. Watch your inbox for more information on this great partnership.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Roadrunners,

Every October, our community comes together to give back through the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC), hosted in partnership with United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. As Honorary Chairs of UTSA's SECC campaign, Peggy and I look forward to seeing the positive impact UTSA will make on the lives of so many in our community in the midst of this challenging year.

To magnify our charitable impact, UTSA is partnering with UT Health San Antonio to raise a combined total of $500,000. In support of this goal, I challenge our Roadrunner community to raise $150,000. I encourage you to make your donation on October 15, this year’s partnership date with UT Health San Antonio. Watch your inbox for more information on this great partnership.

Giving back to our own campus community is even easier this year. Three UTSA entities are now SECC approved charities, allowing you to support Roadrunners directly:

  • Roadrunner Pantry
  • Fostering Educational Success Center
  • First Generation and Transfer Center

I encourage you to visit UTSA’s SECC website to learn more about the wide variety of organizations that participate in the SECC.

The pandemic applies a different lens to this year’s campaign, amplifying the significant needs in our community. I am always impressed by the compassion and enthusiasm shown by our faculty and staff for the SECC, and this year I know that support will be even more heartfelt, given the pandemic’s devastating impact.

One thing remains constant: your contribution represents a valuable difference in someone’s life. Together, we are Texas Strong.

With appreciation,
