Subject: Information For NTT Faculty: Summary of FTT Transition Form and Process
Importance: High
Dear COEHD NTT Faculty,
I have received a few emails with questions regarding the transition of current NTT faculty titles. Below is summarized information to help you better understand.
·
The term
Non-Tenure-Track (NTT) faculty has been renamed to Fixed-Term-Track (FTT) faculty.
·
If you are a current NTT (now FTT) faculty, you need to complete the
FTT Transition Form by December 11, 2020, to indicate whether you wish to transition to the updated titles, or go up for promotion into another title. Please see the attached
transition plan for titles that are changing. VPAA will provide additional information about next steps in early January 2021.
Please complete the
FTT
Transition Form
by December 11, 2020.

·
If you do not submit the FTT Transition Form by Dec. 11, you will be automatically transitioned into your updated title, and
promotion this academic year will not be available. The last question on the FTT Transition Form specifically asks if you wish to go up for promotion into another title.
·
Faculty who would like to consider promotion to a higher rank than that shown in the transition plan table can prepare a promotion packet, following the “Promotion
Guidelines for Fixed-Term-Track Faculty.” The completed packet must be completed by January 31 for consideration before the end of the spring semester. All appointments in Fall 2021 will be considered as a year 1 appointment for ranks which now
have a time limit of 10 years. VPAA will provide additional information about next steps in early January 2021.
·
If an FTT faculty member applies for promotion to a higher title in Spring 2021 according to the new FTT faculty
promotion guidelines and does not get the promotion, they will be automatically transitioned to the new title reflected in the transition
plan effective Fall 2021. They will be eligible for promotion in the future.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

We are excited to announce changes to HOP 2.02 and 2.50 that describe faculty appointments, titles and recruitment, evaluation, and promotion for Fall 2021. These proposed changes are the result of a process that started with the
non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty committee of the Academy of Distinguished Teaching Scholars (ADTS).
