Our hearts are broken by the tragedy that took place at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX on Tuesday, May 24. We think of the many families who senselessly lost loved ones. We will stand in support of those families by opening relief funds to which the community can contribute to help them heal. I personally feel that the Fund we set up at the San Antonio Foundation will do a great job w funds collected.

Dear COEHD Faculty, Staff, and Students,

You are likely aware by now of the devastating and heartbreaking deadly event at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX – a small community roughly 100 miles southwest of San Antonio. This horrific and senseless act has hit very close to home.

I did learn that two school administrators involved in the situation are closely connected to UTSA. The principal of Robb Elementary is currently a doctoral student in ELPS – her name is Mandy Gutierrez. The Superintendent, John Harrell, is a UTSA alum.

Please keep these individuals and the entire community of Uvalde in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you,

Mario
