Lisa!! Michael and Curtis are 1,000% correct. What a huge loss to the college. Your new employer plucked a gem from us. Thank you for your years of selfless leadership, love, and commitment to us all.

I acknowledge and honor the ancestral and Indigenous lands where I live and work known as Yanawena in the Carrizo/Comecrudo language, meaning "the place where I rest my head." I express gratitude to the many Indigenous peoples who were the original caretakers of this land.

Lisa,

I couldn’t agree more with Curtis.  You are the consummate professional and always had COEHD’s needs front and center.  You will be missed. You are appreciated.

Lisa,

I am truly sorry to see you go. Your influence in our department and college has always been one of insightfulness that is forward thinking. Your ability to gather, organize and analyze information always impressed me.  Not only that, but your moral compass always points to justice.  I cannot say enough about your professional acumen.  Our college has really lost a gem.

Best wishes on your new endeavor!

Sincerely,

Curtis

I acknowledge that I am a visitor to the Indigenous territory called Yanaguana. The name refers to the San Antonio River as the source of life for this city. The original caretakers of the land include the Carrizo/Comecrudo, as well as many Coahuiltecan-speaking bands. I recognize our shared connection to the land, water, and air that we are using.

Dear COEHD faculty, staff, and friends,

I am sad to announce that Business Service Center Manager, Lisa Chavez, will be leaving her position on September 5, 2022.

Lisa has been an integral member of the college since 2003, serving as a work study, Administrative Associate, Fiscal Specialist with the ELPS Department, and eventually as COEHD BSC Manager. Throughout her time in COEHD, Lisa dedicated herself both to mastering processes and procedures and finding creative solutions to complex problems. Her energy and devotion to quality and excellence will be missed.

It has been a pleasure working with Lisa during my tenure and I wish her all the best.

Please join me in wishing her well.
