Hi Everyone,

See below for information on the upcoming Communities in Schools-San Antonio ‘Whole Child Whole Community’ conference.  It’s a great local conference, and I know that CISSA has been a great partner to many UTSA faculty.

And feel free to forward to your graduate students – registrations costs are lower for students.

Thanks!

Time is Running Out To Secure Your Seat

Hi There,

Time is running out to reserve your seat for the 2023 Whole Child Whole Community Conference, and we don’t want you to miss out on your opportunity to attend! Communities In Schools of San Antonio, in partnership with The University of Texas at San Antonio, is excited to host this professional development day dedicated to learning, community building, and wellness, and we are holding a spot just for you. The cost for this event is $100 per person ($50 for students/AmeriCorps members), and the deadline to register is Wednesday, October 4th.

Wondering what topics will be covered?

We are excited to reveal our 2023 breakout sessions! We have 19 different sessions, which have been curated for Educators, School District Leaders, Counselors, Youth Serving Program Staff, and Community Leaders. Continuing education credits are available for eligible professionals!

What should you know about this one-day conference?

  • This in-person event will take place on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • The conference will take place at the Region 20 Conference Center (1314 Hines St., San Antonio, TX 78208)

The season just changed, and so have a few things with the conference! See what’s new this year.

  • New Breakout Sessions & Presenters: Experts around the city have prepared unique and timely presentations just for you. Some topics include "What Were They Thinking?!" Understanding Adolescent Brain Development and How to Respond Effectively” and “Art as A tool for Engaged Learning and Healing.”
  • Improved Conference Flow: We heard many of you value time to network with one another. Therefore, we’ve adjusted the conference schedule so that the panel discussion will occur during the closing panel, and the lunch hour will be focused on enjoying your meal, time for self-reflection, and networking with others.
  • More CEUs for eligible professionals: Last year were able to offer three CEUs for eligible professionals. This year, we are offering FIVE!
