The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) in the College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites nominations and applications for an open rank professor (tenured/tenure track) faculty position to begin in the Fall of 2023 in Higher Education Leadership. Tenure is contingent upon Board of Regents approval. We are looking for faculty members with expertise or scholarly emphasis in one or more of the following areas: community college leadership; student affairs; Queer/LGBTQ+/Jotería; undocumented and/or immigrant students; traditionally marginalized and underserved students; critical methods; or critical theories. Required qualifications: (1) expertise or scholarly emphasis in one or more of the following areas of research: community college leadership; student affairs; Queer/LGBTQ+/Jotería; undocumented and/or immigrant students; traditionally marginalized and underserved students; critical methods; or critical theories; (2) earned doctorate in higher education or closely related field by June 30, 2023; (3) demonstrated potential to conduct and publish scholarly research in higher education; (4) demonstrated potential in teaching excellence; (5) demonstrated advocacy for equity in education, (6) an articulated research agenda, (7) professional experience advancing student learning, student development and leadership, student success, or diversity and inclusion, etc. in diverse higher education settings; (8) experience supervising dissertations and working collaboratively with students on research; and (9) participating in strategic program development and leadership experience in departmental committees. Preferred qualifications: (1) advanced skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies/data analysis; (2) professional (administrative or programmatic) experience in higher education, student affairs, or educational policy settings; (3) publication in appropriate professional outlets; (4) collaborative experiences with university faculty and staff in curriculum development, joint research and teaching ventures, and other department and university activities; (5) participation and involvement in professional associations; and (6) demonstrated potential of securing external funding for research.
