Subject: Invitation to Fall Signature Speaker: Steve Johnson

Hi,

Please forward to all COEHD faculty as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Jenny

On behalf of the partnership between UTSA Libraries, the Office of the Vice President for Research, and the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Support, I invite you to attend this year’s presentation by signature speaker Steve Johnson. Mr. Johnson will speak on October 14, 2015 at 5:30 pm in the Main Building Auditorium (MB 0.104), with attention to the powerful role of higher education on incubating important ideas.

Author of several best-selling books such as Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation and Everything Bad is Good for You, Mr. Johnson’s work has helped to generate innovation, including already at UTSA.  We anticipate that what he covers will be academically invigorating for students, staff and faculty. For that reason we ask that when appropriate, faculty members not only come but bring their classes or encourage participation through extra credit. Anyone who attends can learn more about sparking innovation and creativity, an important endeavor on our institutional path to Tier One.

Please share the attached flier with those who may be interested. For additional information on this speaker, you may refer to the following link at the UTSA Faculty Center website:  http://faculty.utsa.edu/events/where-do-good-ideas-come-from.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this information.
