Dear Colleague,
Please note that Microsoft has announced a global update from the old Microsoft Teams to the New Teams application. Over the past few months, you may have noticed messaging from Microsoft about this impending update. By tomorrow, March 27,
the old Teams application will no longer be available for use.
Instead, you will be prompted to switch to the New Teams. If you have already done so, please disregard this message. If not,
please feel free to click the slider on the top right hand side of the Teams interface to switch to the New Teams now.
For more information about the New Teams, please visit this
Microsoft webpage.
Reminder: Connect to the VPN regularly
Remember, UTS uses the UTSA VPN (Virtual Private Network) to update UTSA-issued devices regularly, including preloading installs like this Teams update. To ensure optimal performance and information security, your UTSA computer needs
to complete a regular "check-in" on the VPN to connect to the UTSA Microsoft licensing server and receive other security updates. When telecommuting or bringing UTSA devices off campus for extended periods,
please make it a habit to connect to VPN for around an hour once a month. You may visit
this link for instructions on accessing the VPN.
