Dear COEHD Faculty, Staff, and Students,
I am very pleased to announce Dr. Belinda Flores has graciously agreed to continue in her role as Associate Dean. In exceptional fashion, Dr. Flores has served COEHD and the university for many
years and has played a pivotal leadership role in spearheading innovations that have resulted in lasting benefits for the college that include among other accomplishments program development, enhanced clinical teacher preparation, and robust school district-university
partnerships.
Personally, it has been a joy to work closely with Dr. Flores, to benefit from her wisdom and candor on issues and problems, and seeing her commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally-efficacious
climate for our faculty, staff, students, and our external stakeholders realized through her words and actions. I’m confident that despite whatever challenges come our way, Dr. Flores will make important contributions to finding solutions and moving us closer
to realizing our collective aspirations.
You may remember this position was slightly revised to include “growth.” Dr. Flores will also be charged with helping with college recruitment efforts and facilitating enrollment growth through
partnerships with school districts, social agencies, profits, and non-profits. This role is critical to our viability as a college. I’m thrilled Dr. Flores will be overseeing this area in view of her rich network and relational skills and I look forward to
her many contributions.
Please join me in congratulating, Dr. Belinda Flores as our “new” Associate Dean for Strategic Partnerships, Preparation, and Growth. This new role becomes effective
September 1st.
