Dear colleague,

This invitation is being sent on behalf of Ms. Karla Broadus, the director of African American Studies program.

Two days ago, the African American Studies Program worked with the various offices on our campus organizing participants for San Antonio’s Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. March on January 15, 2018.  The seven buses we sponsored, enabled hundreds of students, staff and faculty to participate and engage with the meaning of MLK, Jr. Day.  Our bright orange shirts really helped us stand out. We were so proud to be Roadrunners!

Today, we are proudly inviting you to our coming event next week. The 2018 UTSA Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture Series. This year we have Dr. Ricky Jones as our guest speaker who will present “My Brother Martin: Democracy, Decency, and Developing Student Success in 21st Century America” at the Retama Room on Jan. 24th, 2018 at 11:00am. We’ll also have the presidential remarks from Dr. Taylor Eighmy and the dean’s remarks from Dr. Margo DelliCarpini at the event. Please join us!
