ILT to host undergraduate colloquium, present Martinello Award

The Department of Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching (ILT) will host the annual Interdisciplinary Studies Research Colloquium on Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. in the Buena Vista Building Aula Canaria (1.328) on the UTSA Downtown Campus. The event is free and open to the public.


UTSA Teacher Education Autism Model Center hosts open house on Autism Awareness Day April 2

To commemorate National Autism Awareness Day, the Teacher Education: Autism Model (TEAM) Center in the UTSA College of Education and Human Development will hold an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 located at the TEAM Center in the Durango Building (DB 0.220) at the UTSA Downtown Campus.


Counseling book to be used by Korean schools leaders

Dr. Gerald Juhnke’s co-authored book, “Suicide, Self-Injury and Violence in the Schools: Assessment, Prevention, and Intervention Strategies,” was translated into Korean and reformatted for future use by Korean school administrators, counselors and teachers.

Dr. Curtis Brewer, along with co-author Hans Klar, received the 2015 Journal of Educational Administration Highly Commended Paper Award from Emerald Group Publishing for their paper "Successful leadership in rural, high-poverty school: The case of County Line Middle School."

Provost of U. of Texas Flagship Will Be Promoted to President

Gregory L. Fenves, provost of the University of Texas at Austin, will be the institution’s next president. The university system’s Board of Regents voted on Friday to name Mr. Fenves the sole finalist for the presidency, the system announced in a written statement.
