UTSA receives $5 million Mellon grant for racial justice efforts

UTSA has been awarded a three-year, $5 million grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the university’s community partnerships in advancing racial justice and developed by Jackie Cuevas, associate professor and assistant chair of the Department of Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Sexuality Studies and director of the Women’s Studies Institute.

During training, school psychology students are often reminded of the importance of self-care concerning stress and possible burnout. However, students are not always provided the skills necessary to actively maintain self-care.

Revolutionary Women: The Soldaderas, Saints and Subversives Who Shaped Early Texas

Much has been written about the men of the Mexican Revolution, but what about its women? Co-authors Kathy Sosa, Ellen Riojas Clark, and Jennifer Speed detail the lives of 18 of these female role models and subversives from the last century in their new book, "Revolutionary Women of Texas and Mexico."
