Colleagues,
I hope the semester is going well for everyone. I write today to share two courses that we are offering in Curriculum & Instruction this summer. I believe that both courses would be great options
for students in many of our college’s masters and doctoral programs as elective courses.
CI 5073 Secondary School Curricula is
a course that will focus on the historical foundations and current issues in middle and high schools. This course is a masters level course. Should there be a doctoral student who would like to take the course, I am happy to work with them and their advisor
on adding an additional level of analysis or rigor to the course as needed to satisfy any doctoral requirements or expectations.
CI 7153 Critical Multicultural Education is a course that has
as its focus the emergence of Critical Multicultural Education in research and practice as an answer to the school reform movement and in embodying the social justice mission of schools and schooling. This course is a Masters/Doctoral level course and is recommended
for any advanced masters or doctoral students. This course includes an emphasis on theoretical understanding and practical application of theory in the field.
I have included the flyers attached to this email as both .pdf and .png to make them easy to share with your students. Please feel free to share the flyers or have interested students contact me
at my email address zaid.haddad@utsa.edu with any questions
or concerns about enrolling in the courses. Below are the details about each course:

If the images do not display correctly in this email, please view the attached flyers.
Sincerely,
Zaid Haddad

“Tell them about how you’re never really a whole person if you remain silent, because there’s always that one little piece inside you that wants to be spoken
out, and if you keep ignoring it, it gets madder and madder and hotter and hotter, and if you don’t speak it out one day it will just up and punch you in the mouth from inside.” –Audre Lorde, recalling her daughter’s words of advice.
