Dear COEHD Faculty,

Please see the message and opportunity below related to mentoring, sent by Dr. Nicole Beebe, AVP for Faculty Research Development. We know that mentoring is an essential tool in research development, so I encourage you to consider attending. Reach out to me with any questions or if I can support in any way. -Emily Bonner

From Dr. Beebe: I wanted to highlight that the mentor training opportunity listed below is a greatly shortened opportunity for faculty. I highlighted to senior leadership that the current, existing offerings that require WEEKS of dedicated time are counter-productive, as many faculty view mentorship training as important, but cannot dedicate that much time to training. So, they listened and are now offering a much shorter mentorship training opportunity consisting of only two 2.5 hours sessions next month.

Would you please consider pointing this time-condensed opportunity out to your faculty? Here are a few reasons why some folks might want to attend:

UTSA Libraries Announces New E-Resource: WSJ.com
UTSA Libraries is excited to announce that it has secured institutional access to Wall Street Journal (WSJ) for all current faculty, students, and staff. In addition to all content you find in a print edition of WSJ, UTSA subscribers will have access to additional articles, videos, interactive content, special events, etc.

One of the benefits of an institutional subscription is “WSJ for Professors”. This feature provides ideas for integrating WSJ content in the classroom. Faculty members who are interested in an overview of the “WSJ for Professors” feature may contact Natasha Arguello, head of Research and Education Services for the libraries.

Click this link for steps to activate your institutional account; or, if you have a current personal subscription, migrate to the UTSA-sponsored membership. Please note that you will be able to go directly to https://www.wsj.com/ for access after the initial registration.
