Dr. Felicia Castro-Villarreal Receives Outstanding Service to the Profession of School Psychology Award
 
The Texas Association of School Psychologists (TASP) is a professional organization representing school psychologists and graduate educators in the state of Texas. As a state affiliate of the National Association of School Psychologists, TASP provides professional development to psychologists through its annual convention and summer institute, advocates for school psychologists through legislative initiatives, and promotes the highest standards of service delivery to children and families. 

The purpose of the Outstanding Service to the Profession of School Psychology Award is to recognize school psychologists who have, throughout their careers, made significant contributions to the profession of School Psychology. Dr. Castro-Villarreal was selected to receive this award through a competitive nomination and review process. She was chosen as this year’s recipient due to her tireless commitment to our master’s program and students and her continuous efforts to diversify the field of School Psychology.
 
Hector R. Castrillon-Costa wins Prestigious Grant from TIRF
 
Hector R. Castrillion-Costa won a Doctoral Dissertation Grant (DDG) from The International Research Foundation for English Language Education (TIRF).TIRF is a U.S.-based organization that seeks to improve individuals' lives through language education research. The DDG program is a highly competitive competition where doctoral students around the world compete for funding to assist in furthering their research. Hector's dissertation is entitled Creole Languages in Education: An Ethnography of Educational Language Policy in St. Lucia. He is currently doing research in St. Lucia.
