I hope your summer is going well and you are finding some cool places to read, write, and re-charge. 

I want to update you on our Associate Dean positions. We had an incredibly talented group of applicants for the open positions. They had a strong focus on UG  and Graduate student success, aligned with institutional priorities. This was a wonderful finding and it has assisted with my plans to develop leadership capacity within  the college. I have worked with the Provost's Office to develop a Faculty Assistant Dean title. This structure allows mid-career faculty to work with the Associate Deans in the respective areas to (1) help with work distribution, (2) create a representative group ( faculty on assignment at the Associate and Assistant Dean levels from the COEHD) working  on  college and institutionally aligned initiatives, and (3) build leadership capacity through mentoring  and development of mid-career faculty.
