Subject: Active Shooter Training for Main Building Employees - July 22, 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Main Building Colleagues,

On August 19, 2014, the UTSA Police Department and Office of Emergency Management will be conducting a training exercise in the Main Building involving an active shooter scenario.   During the exercise, the entire Main Building will be asked to respond to the evolving "incident" by practicing your office emergency procedures.  In preparation for the exercise, we are offering the following training session and highly encourage all directors, supervisors, faculty and staff to attend (RSVP to BePrepared@utsa.edu or to Tracy Merritt at x6851):

·         Tuesday, July 22, 2014 - 9:00 am - 10:30 am, Main Building – Regent’s Room, 3rd Floor

This employee training will provide valuable awareness information about what happens during an incident of this nature, how you can be prepared, and what to do if a real situation ever arises.  Please share with everyone in your office who conduct university business in the Main Building, including those who teach or work part-time in this facility.  Everyone should print and complete the attached registration form and bring with them to the training – print legibly as this information will be printed on participants certificate of completion.  If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

Preparedness is everyone’s responsibility, therefore let’s join together and promote a safe environment for Roadrunners to work, live, and learn.  Thank you for your participation!
