The RFA for the 2014-2015 Teacher Quality Grants Program (TQGP) is available at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/OS/TQ/. The website also provides application and webinar information.

The TQGP for higher education is a federally funded effort providing grants to higher education faculty to promote improved instruction in writing, mathematics and science for Texas school children by providing professional development for their teachers and for principals who are responsible for instructional leadership.

Texas education, mathematics, science and English faculty at four-year and two-year colleges are eligible to apply – the RFA includes specifics about eligibility.

A webinar to provide RFA information and answer questions will be held at 1 p.m. Central Time on Monday, September 20, 2013. A link will be available at the website listed above. Before the webinar, please review the RFA carefully to ensure you are aware of current program requirements. Some aspects of the program have changed such as the number of awards that will be funded and the topic areas allowable.

The deadline to submit a Notice of Intent to apply for a TQGP grant is September 25, 2013 at 4 p.m. Central Time. The deadline to submit an application  for a 2014-2015 Teacher Quality Grant is October 23, 2013 at 4 p.m. Central Time.
