I'd like to take this opportunity to express my deepest thanks to all of you, for the time and effort you put into making the COEHD such a warm and supportive environment for our students and for each other.  The contributions you make  in teaching, research, and service and in ensuring  that our offices run smoothly and effectively are deeply appreciated.  At this time of great suffering for many in the world, we lead comparatively privileged lives, and this time of year reminds us to give thanks for all that we have and to continue to advocate for those who lack the very basic resources they need to live healthily and happily.
