Greetings Colleagues,
See below for the Fulbright HSI Virtual Workshop being held a week from tomorrow.
Also, NEH announced an initiative on Humanities Research Centers on Artificial Intelligence with a deadline of February 14, 2024 (and optional draft due January 10, 2024). Centers must focus their scholarly activities on exploring the ethical, legal, or societal
implications of AI. A Center is a sustained collaboration among scholars focused on exploring a specific topic.
Successful applicants will examine the humanities implications of AI through two or more related scholarly activities. Centers must be led by scholars in the humanities or humanistic social sciences but should include scholars from multiple disciplines. Scholars
may come from one or more institutions.
National Endowment
for the Humanities suggests
that individual NEH research applications concerning AI can be addressed through their Collaborative Research grants
https://www.neh.gov/grants/research/collaborative-research-grants (due
Nov. 29); Digital Humanities Advancement Grants
https://www.neh.gov/grants/odh/digital-humanities-advancement-grants (due Jan. 11, 2024); or Digital Projects
for the Public grants
https://www.neh.gov/grants/public/digital-projects-the-public (due June 12, 2024).
Finally, starting next week, I'm shifting my office hours to Wednesday for the month of November. The links are in the signature section below.
Thank you,
Iwan
