Hallo zusammen,
Tomorrow from 1:30-2:30pm we have an in-person
Stammtisch<https://colfa.utsa.edu/modern-languages/german-club> (optional German
conversation hour). There is no language requirement, so feel free to come and discuss
German-related topics in English. It will be held at the Outdoor Learning
Environment<https://provost.utsa.edu/success-district/ole.html> (FLN - OLÉ 1) in
front of the Flawn Sciences building.
The next and last in-person Stammtisch of the semester is in two weeks.
* Th. Oct. 27, 1:30-2:30pm
* Th. Nov. 10, 1:30-2:30pm

Here's a sneak preview of some experiential learning opportunities I'm proposing
for the German Program. I'll send more information as things get approved and
finalized.
* Th. Nov. 10, 2022: excursion to Wurstfest in New Braunfels. I'm hoping to get
funding to provide gas and food stipends.
*
*
* May 22 - June 20, 2023 (30 days): study abroad in Dresden, Germany. There is no
language requirement, and there is an optional longer stay to take a language course at
the local university.

Finally, as you consider spring registration, keep German in mind!
Culture:
You can take more CSH German courses, which are all online:
* My culture course, "Love conquers all?" We explore classic and modern
stories of love. You can register for the English CSH section or German GER section.
* A German philosophy course with Dr. Alistair Welchman. You can register for the
English PHI section or German GER section.
* A STEM-focused course about German inventions with Philina Wittke. You can register
for the English CSH section or German GER section.
Language:
If you're in GER 1014 now, you can move on to GER 1024 in the spring, using the same
textbook.
If you're more advanced, you can take GER 2023 Intermediate 1 or GER 3023 Advanced
German. Dr. David Hünlich unterrichtet den Kurs mit Live Online Sessions 2x pro Woche. Sie
