The 119th San Antonio Deutsche Weihnachtsfeier will take place on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at the Margarite B. Parker Chapel on the campus of Trinity University.
The Christmas story is told entirely in the German language using scripture, German Christmas poetry, prayers, choral and congregational singing, and instrumental music. Come and sing Stille Nacht, O Tannenbaum, and other Christmas carols in German! Words and music provided!
The Beethoven Maennerchor and the San Antonio Liederkranz choirs will perform. The celebration usually lasts 90 minutes.
Arrive early to be sure to find a good seat and to hear Dr. David Heller’s prelude on the magnificent chapel organ (begins at 5:00 p.m.).
This traditional annual celebration is open to the public, family-friendly, and free. A voluntary cash collection will be taken up to cover costs.
The German Weihnachtsfeier Society of San Antonio looks forward to welcoming you to this celebration. For more information: go to www.saweihnachtsfeier.org , call 210-264 6749, or email saweihnachtsfeier@gmail.com .
