San Antonio Pride Parade

Across the United States June is recognized as Pride month to commemorate the Stonewall riots of 1969 which served as the start of the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement. For decades San Antonio has held Pride events to celebrate the River City’s LGBTQIA+ population. This year UTSA is proud to join the festivities and participate (march) in the San Antonio Pride Parade for the very first time!

Join Us for the San Antonio Pride Parade

We enthusiastically invite the UTSA community (faculty, staff, students, alumni, and administrators) to participate and march in the San Antonio Pride Parade. Shuttle service from UTSA's Main Campus will be provided.

When: Saturday, June 25, 2022
Time: Parade begins at 9:00 pm. (shuttle departs Main Campus at 6:15 pm)
Note: Everyone wishing to participate (march) in the Parade must register and must complete the San Antonio Pride Parade Waiver (attached) and return page #2 to kathryn.carrillo@utsa.edu by Thursday, June 23^rd, 4:00 pm.

Shuttle Information

Meet in front of the Convocation Center – Main Campus.
Shuttle will depart at 6:15 pm. and drop attendees off near parade lineup area.
Shuttle will depart at the end of the Parade Route; back to UTSA Main Campus at 11:30 pm.
For ease, we recommend taking the shuttle.

Pride Rowdy T-shirt

We encourage everyone marching with UTSA in the parade to wear Pride Rowdy apparel. If you would like a Pride Rowdy t-shirt, please email PrideFSA@utsa.edu.

If You Plan to Drive Yourself

Park on a side street somewhere close to the start of the parade route (Main St. and Dewey Place).
Plan to join us at the “UTSA marchers” location no later than 6:45 pm. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to park and walk to the location.
We are unsure at this time where our exact location will be in the lineup area (map below and attached) -- west of Main St. and between W. Courtland Place and W. Dewey Place – Section A, B, C, or D). We will send updates on the exact section where UTSA will be located later next week to those that have registered.
Please note that all streets around the parade lineup area and along the parade route will be blocked off beginning at 5 pm.
