Dear all, We had a small but productive meeting yesterday. In order for our group to continue our discussion on institutional immigration support, we have invited Heather Shipley from Academic Affairs to provide us with the most recent update on policies. I will let you know if and when she can join us. For our next meeting, we also want to specifically invite international faculty from the new cohort and have a social brown bag luncheon at 1pm on Oct. 27th before the official meeting even begins. If you are available on that day, come join us as we provide new faculty with the opportunity to check-in with the group and share their experience after their first two months at UTSA. On a somewhat related note, we also reached out to the UTSA International Students group to see if they have any events we can get involved in or maybe provide some targeted mentoring. Finally, there is a faculty resource fair next week and our affinity group could host a table. From those present yesterday, unfortunately no one is available though. If you want to present our group to the wider UTSA faculty on Oct 7th, please let me know and I can get you in touch with Judy Vernon who is coordinating the event.
