** SENT ON BEHALF OF MARCO KURITA **
Greetings,
Interior design and architecture student volunteers are needed for UTSA's Southwest
Campus KIDS 5th Grade Fall Program. Volunteers will collaborate with an instructor at a
partnering elementary school, assisting with both instruction and the day’s planned
activity. The program is rooted in architecture and planning, introducing 5th graders to
foundational concepts such as figure/ground, neighborhood program, and visualization
through drawing and craft-based exercises.
Participation is not only a valuable way to be good neighbors with UTSA Southwest Campus,
but also within San Antonio’s public schools. It is a great opportunity to experience the
joy of lively charrettes with elementary-age children, who often bring fresh and
imaginative perspectives to architectural ideas.
Sessions meet once per week over a 10-week period, with each lesson lasting 90 minutes.
All materials and curriculum will be provided by the KIDS Program.
The program begins September 22nd with orientation the week prior.
If at all interested, or want more details, please contact me marco.kurita(a)utsa.edu
Many thanks,
Marco Kurita
