Goldwater Scholarship for Excellence in STEM Education – Apply for UTSA Nomination - The
Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation recognizes every year
the nation’s most accomplished students who plan to pursue a research career. Almost all
scholars plan to pursue a PhD in the areas of natural sciences, mathematics and
engineering.
Each year, the foundation makes 490+ awards. The scholarship provides $7500 per year in
funding toward a student’s remaining undergraduate education costs.
UTSA is able to nominate 4 students who are either sophomores (Graduating in Spring 2028)
or juniors (graduating in Fall or Spring 2027). UTSA is able to nominate:
* An additional 5th student who is a transfer from another 4-year institution or a
community college.
* And a 6th student who is a US veteran
Last year, 4 UTSA students were named scholars, the most of any school in Texas. Are you
interested?
