I am writing to inform you that the 2024 NSF ExpandAI Leadership Workshop (EXAIL) date has been rescheduled to Monday, October 7. This adjustment, made on August 26, aims to better accommodate travel schedules and align with the SAIL program.

For those who submitted a travel subsidization nomination, we are currently reviewing the nominations to confirm eligibility. Once this process is complete, I will provide instructions on how to receive the funds (support of $1,700 per nominee). In the meantime, participants are required to cover all travel costs according to their preferred method or their institution’s policy.

If you still need to complete your registration, I recommend doing so by August 31 to take advantage of the $350 registration fee. Please note that a late registration fee of $150 will apply starting September 1.

As previously mentioned, the 2024 NSF ExpandAI Leadership Workshop (EXAIL) will take place from October 6 to 10, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA. This event will be held in conjunction with the 2024 NSF Summit for AI Institute Leadership (SAIL) at the Marriott City Center and the AI Expo Day at Carnegie Mellon University. EXAIL is designed to enhance the ExpandAI program's collaborative framework.

2024 NSF EXAIL Registration

• Register for SAIL before 11:59 pm on Friday, August 31
• Late registration is $500 starting September 1

If you have already notified the EXAIL Team of your participation, your registration for SAIL will confirm your participation. If you have not yet confirmed your participation in NSF EXAIL but are registered for SAIL or plan to register, please notify julianne.henry@utsa.edu to reserve your spot. We have limited availability and want to ensure you have the first option.

EXAIL Highlights:

• Network with fellow ExpandAI leaders and NSF AI Institute leaders
• Showcase your successes and learn from others
• Discuss challenges and exchange innovative ideas
• Strengthen AI capabilities and strategic planning for future initiatives
