Hi all,
We're starting to plan a UT Systemwide Open Source Program Office (Texas-OSPO<https://opensource.utexas.edu/>) that will serve as a hub for open source software training, consultation, resources, and connection to the Texas research open source software ecosystem. Our initial planning partners include UT Austin, UT Dallas, UT El Paso, and UT San Antonio.
Please take the Texas-OSPO Survey and share your thoughts with us on how we can build resources and services that meet the needs of you and your community. The survey should take less than five minutes to complete. Responses are confidential (unless you choose otherwise) and are due no later than September 25, 2025.
Take the Texas-OSPO Survey<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6LmUYxiIkpYPIZQKe0tZSPNc9J-nGg...>
We would also love your participation in our upcoming Open Source Software training session Friday September 19 at noon CDT. At this event, you will be introduced to the UT Open Source Program Office, our resources and people, and our packed event schedule. We will discuss getting up and running with open source software, including the use of important supporting technical solutions like Git and Github. This session will also offer insights and connections for how to build a strategy and management plan for open source projects that will meet grant and funder requirements.
