Since you are stuck with a former History Teacher…the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the United States, and Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg address are often called “Americans National Creed.”

The Declaration of Independence was meant to be read among the different groups of the original colonies out loud to build support for the American Revolution with England.
