CWPT

Tanya Baker has been contacted regarding the formatting, layout and graphic designs upon the completion of the CWPT materials and handouts

-pending her feedback but open to Project LEER contacts with similar skill sets


CWPT materials

Input is needed from Dr. Eslami regarding culturally relevant images and appropriate images considering the context of the materials

-pending TELPAS scores to determine the level of CWPT content

-Peer Praise: Cultural consideration(Dr. Eslami as cultural reference)

-error correction procedures

-Fidelity chart (Eboni is finalizing the updated draft)

-Contact Northside and Marshal ISD about district-based awards system

  • Awards for perfect attendance, “doing the right thing”, showing up for class, good grades. (Marshall HS)

Science Materials

-pending TELPAS scores to determine the level of CWPT content

-Beginner vocabulary charts with definitions in both English and L1 language plus an image.

-CWPT sessions will be 20-25 minutes, thus adjustments must be made

-good classroom management is a must

-example: 4 days a week (2 days to review terms)/ 

-Peer tutor training will include a material walk-through

-Pre and post test (teacher administered)

Here is what we talked about last week with regard to the structure and ideas of how to adjust the presentation for the Region 1 PD for Thursday:

      • Structure of Region 1 PD  

        • Begin by surveying attendees on 

          • Population, assignment (middle, high, etc.), SES, needs 

          • Short background on MTSS  

        • Behavior (Dr. Burke and Dr. Padilla) 

          • Short background on functions of behavior 

          • Practical strategies: 

            • Importance of Rapport 

            • Use of humor 

            • Student Choice – what does that really look like 

            • Careful of Idioms with EB 

          • What challenging behaviors are they having in their classroom 

            • What if scenarios? 

            • Word cloud of what they are experiencing 

        • Academic 

        • Weave in Social Emotional
