Schraub & Su CWPT Planning Meeting 8-12-24

CWPT
20-25 minutes per peer tutoring session
3 days/week (they want M, W, F to allow for more instruction)
CWPT second half of class; content/instruction first half of class
The pre- and post-tests can take place during instruction and not during the CWPT time frame
20 vocab words for each unit β including some spiral review words from the previous week
Error correction β say aloud and write it three times
Point sheet β front only (not the back to 300 points)
They can give students the notes on CWPT days to review and cut the warm up short
They will let us know if there are any EBs with disabilities who have testing accommodations
Business as usual
No peer tutoring or dyads
Notes β interactive journal/notebook/cute, glue and paste and organize the notes
Start with a warm-up including most of time important vocabulary they will introduce (new words) then discuss - review Monday and Tuesday warm up - about 10 minutes and next 15 minutes intro to the lesson sometimes go straight to notes sometimes notes (scaffolding)
the warm up can be shortened for CWPT (sometimes they skip warm up if there is a lab or there is a lot of instruction)
Labs/stations/hands-on after notes (like a test grade)
lab β experiments (give them an overview and directions, students work in groups to take measurements (physics) or metric system, dropping objects
1-2 labs per unit
Close the lesson with class discussion
Preference Assessments
Theyβll send us ideas in addition to Takis, hot Cheetos, candies with Nerds
