The
Special
Education Advocacy Summit (SEAS) is a two and one-half day training program hosted by the
Center
for Legal and Social Justice and co-sponsored by
Wrightslaw
and Connell,
Michael, LLP.
The Summit will take place at
St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, TX from
June 5th to June 8th, 2024 and will feature approximately fourteen sessions covering applicable laws, ethics, best practices in advocacy, strategies for working with
parents and schools and dispute-resolution procedures. These sessions will be taught by national leaders in the field.
The purpose of the
Special
Education Advocacy Summit
(SEAS) is to provide training in special education advocacy for experienced advocates, law students, new attorneys, and attorneys new to special education law.
Speakers include: Patty Roberts, Pat Howey, Jaime L. Vázquez-Bernie,
Catherine Michael, Jim Comstock-Galagan, Pete and Pam Wright. Other speakers to be announced soon!
Attendees will be selected via an application process. Applications will be reviewed on a bi-weekly rolling basis until the class is full.
