NIH Update: DMS Plan No Longer Required for K Award Applications
by Josephine Melendez
Good afternoon, Team,
Please be aware of an important NIH policy update issued today, October 5.
Effective immediately, applicants submitting K award applications are no longer required to include a DMS Plan. NIH will not consider the absence of a DMS Plan to be noncompliant with the NIH DMS Policy. This change applies only to K awards.
This change is particularly important for applicants preparing for next week’s K award deadline.

***********************************
* SETTING A SERVER-LEVEL PASSWORD *
***********************************
If you do not already have a password for the LIST.NIH.GOV server, we
recommend that you set one now. A LISTSERV password is linked to your
subscribed address (Justin Marmolejo <rowdy.research(a)LISTS.IT.UTSA.EDU>)
and is valid for all lists to which you are subscribed on the
LIST.NIH.GOV server. The same password can be used for email commands as

subscribed.
To set your password for this server, visit:
http://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe?GETPW1
*****************************************
* INTERACTING WITH LISTSERV VIA THE WWW *
*****************************************
Subscription settings and preferences can be set using LISTSERV's web
interface. Once you have set a server password as explained above, you
may log in and set your preferences at:
http://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe?SUBED1=NIHTOC-L
Contributions sent to this list are automatically archived. You can
access the list archives at:

You may need to log in to view the archives.
**************************************
* INTERACTING WITH LISTSERV BY EMAIL *
**************************************
You may leave the list at any time by sending a SIGNOFF NIHTOC-L command
to: LISTSERV(a)LIST.NIH.GOV, or by sending a blank email to:
NIHTOC-L-signoff-request(a)LIST.NIH.GOV.
You can also tell LISTSERV how you want it to confirm the receipt of
messages that you send to the list. To send yourself a copy of your own
messages, send a SET NIHTOC-L REPRO command.
Alternatively, to have LISTSERV send you a short acknowledgement instead
of the entire message, send a SET NIHTOC-L ACK NOREPRO command. Finally,
you can turn off acknowledgements completely with the SET NIHTOC-L NOACK
NOREPRO command.
This list is available in digest form. If you wish to receive the
digested version of the postings, then issue a SET NIHTOC-L DIGEST
command.
You can also set the digest delivery option on the list subscription page
at: http://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe?SUBED1=NIHTOC-L
Following instructions from the list owner, your subscription options
have been set to "REPRO" rather than the usual LISTSERV defaults. For
more information about subscription options, send a QUERY NIHTOC-L
command to LISTSERV(a)LIST.NIH.GOV.
You may also check your current settings on the list subscription page
at: http://list.nih.gov/cgi-bin/wa.exe?SUBED1=NIHTOC-L
More information on the tools and options available for list subscribers
may be found in the official L-Soft online documentation at:

Command confirmation request (470281AE)
by LISTSERV@LIST.NIH.GOV
Your command:
SUBSCRIBE NIHTOC-L Justin Marmolejo
requires confirmation. To confirm the execution of your command, simply
click on the following URL:
https://LIST.NIH.GOV/cgi-bin/wa.exe?OK=470281AE&L=NIHTOC-L
Alternatively, if you have no WWW access, you can reply to the present
message and type "OK" (without the quotes) as the text of your message.
Just the word "OK" - do not retype the command. This procedure will work
with any mail program that fully conforms to the Internet standards for
electronic mail. If you receive an error message, try sending a new
message to LISTSERV(a)LIST.NIH.GOV (without using the "reply" function -
this is very important) and type "ok 470281AE" as the text of your
message.
Finally, your command will be cancelled automatically if LISTSERV does
not receive your confirmation within 48h. After that time, you must start
over and resend the command to get a new confirmation code. If you change
your mind and decide that you do not want to confirm the command, then
simply discard the present message and let the request expire on its own.
