Subject: [Advising] All-Advisor Appreciation Award Nominations
Hello Everyone,
Attached you will find the nomination forms for the 3 awards that will be announced at our All-Advisor Appreciation Event in December (date TBD). All of the forms are fillable word documents that allow you to save changes to the gray fields. The three awards are:
* Most Valuable Advisor: given to honor an advisor who has been here for 2 years or more for their leadership, extraordinary initiative, and overall excellence.
* Newcomer Advisor: given to honor an advisor who has been here for less than 2 years for their service, excellence, and leadership.
* George Bergquist Award: given to honor an advisor that exemplifies the values that George Bergquist modeled daily in both his work and life. Some of the traits that this award honors are: Optimistic, Student-centered, Kindness, Positivity, Dedicated, Fun-loving, and Motivating.
Nominations for Most Valuable Advisor and Newcomer Advisor will be submitted to the ballot box in located in the USSTS Office (MS 2.02.18Y). They will then be edited to exclude any names (to prevent bias) and send to a panel usually consisting of one Academic Affairs representative, one Student Affairs representative, and one Business Affairs representative who determine the winners.
Nominations for the George Bergquist award will be submitted to the AAC email (AAC(a)utsa.edu<mailto:AAC@utsa.edu>). In the event that an AAC representative is nominated for this award, they will not be a part of the review and voting process.
All nominations are due by Monday, Oct. 31st @ 5:00 PM.

The Registrar's Graduation Coordination Office (GCO) is calling for volunteers to work the graduate line-up before the commencement ceremonies at the Alamodome Saturday, December 17, 2016. Please note there are only TWO ceremonies this semester held on ONE day. The deadline to sign up for volunteering is Thursday, December 1, 2016.

This semester, there will not be a volunteer orientation. We will have assigned volunteer access badges available for pick up the week before commencement. Graduation Coordination will send out confirmations along with more information to those who sign up as we get closer to the big day. Volunteer duties will include checking in students by college and directing students where to go. A shuttle will be available to pick up and return you to both the main and downtown campus from the Alamodome.
