Hi There Everyone,
Think you'll like Thursday's training. It's always nice to have a snack and catch up with colleagues that we don't get to see every day. Though the networking is a fun way to reconnect with others, we will need to cut it short for this go around, because we'll meet our newest executive director, Ms. Angelica Barrera. She comes from Texas State and is excited to join the university and UTSA Advising. We're also meeting Dr. Kelly from the Honors College.
With the new year, we all are moving ahead with something new .... SSC Campaigns. For some of us, this is not only a new system, but is a new way of doing caseload management. We all have different learning curves and are at different points with getting acclimated to SSC campaigns. At times talking to other advisors helps clarify "things". In fact, sometimes the best way a group learns is by helping each other, so for Thursday, we've dedicated an hour to do just that. Because we are a big group and we don't want to lose any "aha" moments, we'll have a volunteer to facilitate.
Here is a breakdown of our agenda.
Topic(s): Honors College & SSC Campaigns
Location: Ballroom
Time: 8:00-8:15 - Networking
8:15-8:30 - Introduction and Welcome: Angelica Barrera, Executive Director Advising
8:30-9:00 - Dr. Sean Kelly, Dean of Honors College
9:00-10:00 - Lisa Merritt SSC Campaign: Sharing Best Practices
Ok, I think that's it. Please do not hesitate to ask Dainon, Sylvia, Barbara, Brandy or myself any questions.
We'll see you on Thursday!
