It will be labeled as an internet section. I have attached the preliminary syllabus. The instructor for the course is Esmarie Kennedy. Two important ideas to convey to advisors so that they can emphasize to students who may want to enroll in this internet section are the following: 1. Students who enroll in this course must have scored in the 347-349 range on the Math portion of TSI. 2. Students absences will be reported if they fail to complete one week of work in MyMathLab (the online homework), and after the second week of missing assignments, the students may be dropped from the course with a grade of "F", which will convert to NC in ASAP. Pre-Chemistry & Pre-Biochemistry

Advising Community, Please note that both the Chemistry and Biochemistry majors now have "pre-major" requirements beginning this fall. Depending on when the student begins with us, determines their coding in BANNER. Brand new freshmen are coded as BS-CHE-UC or BS-BCH-UC. Those that are transferring to us not under the FYE requirements are coded as PCM for Pre-Chemistry and PBC for Pre-Biochemistry. I know that these details are difficult to remember if not working with these students often, so please feel free to look at the coding chart listed in the 'Resources folder' in the I:drive. (except for July 3 & 4) sometime between now and Aug. 1 Greetings from UTSA Student Support Services! Thank you for your interest in the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS). We can only serve 144 students in our program. Due to graduation and students moving on, we currently have room for approximately 40 new students this fall. During summer orientation we will be holding small group introductory sessions at 2:30 pm in our office Main Building (MB) 0.312 (see attached map) for you to learn more about the great things we do and to fill out a few of the necessary forms. Greetings! With orientations in full swing, the Digital Initiatives Team (DIT) is doing some Advisor Spotlights to help our students get to know us a little better. Currently, the Twitter account has 4 spotlights from this past week. To see some examples of this week's postings, visit https://twitter.com/UTSAadvising. We featured John Bonner in SSS who did a video, and Sylvia Mansour, Albert Lopez and Karl Fisher who each submitted a photo. We'd like to have 3-4 advisors, directors, admins, support staff, work studies, etc. to volunteer to be "showcased" on the social media accounts for each week of orientation. This is completely OPTIONAL and you do not need to participate (though the greater interest the better!).
