Hello all, If you have a petition that has been approved for a blanket waiver, you do not need to send it to the Degree Works email and Suzanne Stokes. You should send it to Suzanne so she can update the transfer tables in Banner. Once that is done, it automatically updates SHATRNS as well, which then updates Degree Works. Carlos and Alejandro joined our team on Monday, August 16th and have been attending in-depth training with Advising Administration. Carlos and Alejandro will help support the operations of the Student Support Center. A fun fact about Alejandro, his first job was as a balloon artist so he might know how to make some balloon animals. Alejandro recently mentioned that he already enjoys working with everyone at UTSA and "it really has made a lasting impression already". Students should be in the process of applying to, or accepted to, a credit-bearing study abroad or internship program, or a virtual international program of at least three weeks. The application deadline is October 5 for study abroad programs that will begin in Spring or Summer. Students applying for Summer can reapply in March if they aren’t selected the first time. The US Department of State awards approximately 3,000 awards each year, and the program seeks to increase diversity in program participants. Applicants must be Pell Grant recipients. Music Ensemble Reminders

Hello, Advising Community, As we close out our Orientation experience, I wanted to send a couple friendly reminders: UTSA has an open, non-auditioned co-ed choir this year! The Department received numerous requests over the years to have a choir for everyone, and they now need help filling it. If you have interested students, please direct them to MUS 4581.006 (flyer attached). No override needed! Marching Band (MUS 3801/3802/3803) is back in person this year with band camp starting next Friday, August 13th. If you have students who are living on campus, they are allowed to move in early (a perk!), but they need to let Housing know as soon as possible.
