It is our pleasure to announce we have three Graduate Assistants on our Academic Advising
team! They each had their first days earlier in May and have attended in-depth training
with the Advising Administration these past few weeks.

Meet Kyra Pham
Kyra Pham graduated with her Bachelor's in Psychology at the University of the
Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas in Spring 2020. She is currently a UTSA graduate
student aspiring to earn her Master's in Communication. During undergrad, she was
actively involved on campus by being a part of different organizations, being a student
tour guide, ambassador, orientation leader, and a work study for the Admissions Office.
She found true passion for working in an academic setting and helping students throughout
their college journey. Kyra enjoys attending music festivals, working out, eating sushi,
going out to boba shops, organizing, and spending time with family and friends. She is
very grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the Academic Advising Team and looks
forward to learning more in how she can help support and guide students!

Meet Sarah Duran
Sarah Duran is a San Antonio native who joined the UTSA community last year as a Master of
Social Work Student. Sarah previously received her bachelor's degree in political
science from Trinity University, where she worked also worked for the university's
counseling services office. While working with counseling services, she was able to gain
experience assisting students and staff in finding the resources they needed. In her
spare time, Sarah enjoys reading, watching tv, knitting, and (most of all) spending time
with her two dogs. Sarah is passionate about working with people, and is looking forward
to being a part of the Academic Advising Team where she can help support students as they
navigate this important time in their lives.

Meet Tomás Soriano Jimenez
Tomás hails from the port city of Tampico, Mexico. He completed his undergraduate degree
in Economics at Brigham Young University in Utah. He has also completed graduate
coursework in Latin American literature, computer science, and geoinformatics. Currently,
Tomás is applying to the information technology master's program at UTSA. In past
lives he has worked as a tech support specialist with UTS, Spanish teacher, and network
operations engineer. Personal interests include poetry, philosophy, and futbol. Tomás
enjoys playing with his daughter, visiting museums, and going on walks.
