[Advising] Degree Works Upper-division Hours Adjustment

Hello All, Please review the information below about a recent adjustment to the Degree Works upper-division hours calculation. The 39 upper-level hours calculation previously looked for any course (UTSA or transfer) that was numbered from 3000-4999 or that had the UPPR attribute in SHATRNS (see below from the Diagnostics Report). [cid:image002.jpg@01D9D5C7.B8B1D290] We noticed a few instances of transfer courses incorrectly applying to the calculation based on the course number from another institution. In the example below, MATH 03150 was "read" as MATH 3150 (the leading zero didn't matter). This course was not upper-level credit at the transfer institution and was not tagged UPPR in SHATRNS, so it should not have counted toward the upper-level hours requirement. [cid:image004.jpg@01D9D5C7.B8B1D290] Degree Works has been adjusted to only include transfer courses if they have the UPPR tag in SHATRNS, regardless of whether or not the course is numbered from 3000-4999 (see the adjustment in Diagnostic below). Only UTSA courses numbered from 3000-4999 will automatically be applied to this requirement based on the course number alone.
