Good afternoon,
I hope everyone is doing well and congratulations on finishing your first set of
Orientation advising appointments. I want to provide a few clarification points with
regards to dual credit coursework and post admission transcripts just to be sure everyone
is on the same page.
? Dual credit coursework, credit the student earned at a community college while in high
school, is not evaluated until UTSA receives the students official final high school
transcript confirming the students graduation date and their complete exit level TAKS
scores. Until the receipt of that final high school transcript is received, admissions
will flag the dual credit transcript to be evaluated. If the student has credit for a
course that is a prerequisite you can make the assumption that once the final high school
transcript is received the student credit will be awarded and set the prerequisite
override (Q1) so the student can register for appropriate fall courses (e.g. Student has
dual credit for ENGL 1301 {WRC 1013}, then the student should register for WRC 1023 and
AIS 1403 for the fall and the prerequisite override be set for WRC 1023)
? The evaluation of transfer coursework subsequent to admission is handled by Suzanne
Stokes in the Office of Undergraduate Studies Support and Technology Services
I appreciate everyone's hard work and commitment to serving their students.
