[Advising] Orientation Info for UHPO

Good afternoon from the University Health Professions Office, We wanted to reach out to the advising community, since the structure of orientation has changed slightly this year. Highlights are below and please let me know if there are any questions. 1) Since the UHPO pre-orientation session (on Monday) is by RSVP only this year, and in a smaller room, we are encouraging orientation students to attend either our Tuesday or Wednesday sessions, if they are interested in a health profession. These Day 2 and 3 sessions will be held in the Travis Room of the UC, at 11 AM. We have attached a quarter page flyer to this email that can be printed out and handed to interested students, with this information. 2) We are also resending the quarter page flyer for recommended freshman fall schedules as well, which can be provided to interested health profession students. This pdf is two pages - one page contains a recommended schedule for students interested in med, dental, vet, pharmacy, optometry, PT, and PA schools. The second page is for students interested in nursing, dental hygiene, respiratory care, and OT programs. Please feel free to print these out either as two sided handouts or individually, to hand out to students. We will do our best to provide this info and more in our sessions but we understand that not all students may be able to attend our presentations, so hopefully the handouts will prove useful. 3) We will still have walk-ins in the afternoon reserved specifically for orientation students on Day 2 and 3 but prefer students try to attend the orientation presentation or one of our group sessions for the special programs we advise (FANS, JAMP, DEAP). Students will be able to sign up for those group sessions by either attending a presentation or during the information fair, at the UHPO table.
