Honors Opportunities for All UTSA Students:
Did you know that after priority registration, any student with a UTSA GPA of 3.3 or
higher can enroll in Honors courses? It's just a simple matter of filling out this
form<https://utsa.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eyVNEREGlU2ddRQ>. Here are some
Spring courses that still have seats! Check out the attached document for available
courses + descriptions. Questions can be sent to

Highlighted Benefit for Honors College Members:
Four times a year, the Honors College reviews applications to award Development Fund
scholarships<https://nam11.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https...;.
These awards up to $500 help students fund professional development opportunities and
experiential learning activities that may also count toward Honors College Requirements.
Examples include:
- Study abroad, such as participation on the COLFA and Architecture Urbino
programs.
- Certifications outside of UTSA, such as EMT and Technical Writing
- Conference attendance for undergraduate researchers
- Costs related to founding startup ventures or non-profit organizations
Student Highlight: Abby Kassal, Senior, double major in Politics and Law in the College of
Liberal and Fine Arts and Criminal Justice in the College of Health, Community and
Policy.

* Fall 2022 Graduate, Summa Cum Laude, graduated Honors with Distinction
* Spring 2022 Archer Fellow, interned at The Heritage Foundation's Center for
Legal and Judicial Studies
* Student athlete on the UTSA Women's soccer team: 4-year letter award winner,
1st Team All-Academic in 2021, received C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal, and was
part of UTSA soccer's first ever Conference USA tournament championship win
* President of OneGoal, Treasurer of the Undergraduate Political Science
Association, Member of Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society
* Two-time Honors College Experiential Learning Fair award winner
* In January, Abby will be moving to Langhorne, Pennsylvania as a John Jay Fellow,
where she will study theology, philosophy, ethics, culture, and jurisprudence to prepare
for a career in public service. After completion of the John Jay Fellows Program, she
plans to attend law school.
