My name is Anthony Garcia, and I'm thrilled to be joining the UTSA Advising team! Originally from Houston, Texas, I've spent the last five years here at UTSA, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Business. During my time on campus, I had the privilege of working in various roles, including as a Supplemental Instruction leader and as a Graduate Assistant for the Alvarez College of Business Student Success Center. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, catching the latest movies (especially in theaters), and collecting trading cards-Pokémon is my absolute favorite! As you get to know me, you'll quickly discover just how much I love Pokémon. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you soon! My name is Argon, Argon Gruber. I am excited to begin at UTSA in academic advising. To say some about myself, I have Bachelor's in Psychology from Trinity University, and two Master's degrees in Philosophy - one from UTSA & one from Mizzou. I am and always will be a lifelong learner, curious to listen to others & learn what life is like for other people. I am from San Antonio, and I have picked up track running in my free time. I volunteer for Meals on Wheels, helping alleviate food insecurity for people in need. My name is Crystal Hahn and I am excited to be part of the UTSA Advising family! I grew up in Houston, Texas but have lived across the country and world as a child of a military service member and then as a military spouse. I graduated in 2009 from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with my BA in Psychology, I completed my MEd in Counseling at George Mason University in 2018, and I am graduating from UTSA with my PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision Fall 2024. I have spent the previous 10 years working in education and counseling with students from first grade through doctoral level. Most recently, I was an Academic Skills Counselor and Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. In my free time, I love to read, practice aerial gymnastics, and cook. I also love going out to parks on the weekend with my family. My name is Caresa Medellin, and I am overjoyed and honored to join the Advising team at UTSA! Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, I earned my bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M San Antonio before the main campus was built. In 2016, I graduated with a master's degree in Higher Education Administration from UTSA. My journey in the education field began in teaching English Language Arts to K-12 students. Most recently, I worked as an Enrollment Coach, a member of the New Student Orientation team, and adjunct faculty at San Antonio College. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies, and enjoying nature, especially birds and squirrels. My name is Sharis Slocum and I am an UTSA alum. I was raised in San Antonio and received my BA in Psychology from UTSA and my MS in Educational Administration from Texas A&M. I have spent 12 years working in higher education within student activities and academic advising. I am excited about returning to academic advising after being a stay at home parent for the past 11 years. When I have free time I enjoy watching movies, hanging out with family and scrapbooking.
