Hi! My name is Anthony Cortez and I am excited to return to my alma mater to be part of
the UTSA Advising family. I'm originally from San Antonio, TX, and graduated from UTSA
in 2013 with a BA in Communications. I have spent the last 2 years in higher education
most recently as an Admissions Counselor for St. Mary's University. But I did get my
start in higher education as an Advisor for Park University. In my free time I enjoy
spending time with my family, watching tv

Hello! My name is MacKenzie Harris. I am excited to join the UTSA Advising team! I grew up
in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated from Texas State University in 2020 with a Bachelor
of General Studies with minors in Business Administration, Communication Studies, and
Criminal Justice. Additionally, at Texas State University, I completed my M. Ed. in
Elementary Education. I have 2 years of experience working in higher education as an
Academic Coach. In my free time, I love binge-watching TV shows, playing volleyball, and
listening to Taylor Swift's discography. I also love coffee and trying new coffee
shops.

Hello! My name is Rita Anderson and I am excited to be part of the UTSA Advising family! I
graduated from the University of Hawaii with a doctoral degree in Education. My passion is
to help students achieve their dreams and become contributing members of a positive
society. I have spent my professional career working in higher education in a variety of
roles, but most recently as a lecturer in the College of Education (California State
University DH) teaching core education courses, supervising and mentoring student teachers
in urban school settings. I love to spend time reading, creating service-community
projects and spending time with family and friends.

Hello! My name is Amina Thomas and I am excited to join UTSA Advising! I'm originally
from Adel, GA and graduated from Valdosta State University in 2017 with a BA in
Interdisciplinary Studies and I am in the process of completing my MA in Geography and
Environmental Sustainability at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have spent the
last 7 years working in higher education in a variety of student assistant and student
support roles. In my free time, I love to cook, read books (I am a member of the Spanish
book club at Igo Library), swing dance, and explore San Antonio on long walks with my dog
Sassy Girl.
